Hepatitis A
Most infections
with Hepatitis A are acute. The infections lasts
for less than 6 months and most people recover
within 6 months |
|
|
Hepatitis F
This virus appears to produce a type similar to
Hepatitis C.
|
|
Hepatitis B
This may develop into a chronic
infection( more than 6 months) If
the infected person is
left untreated, , it may develop into
cirrhosis and liver cancer.
|
|
|
Hepatitis G It is a
newly identified virus that is transmitted similar
to Hepatitis C. It is found more frequently in
groups injecting drugs and hemodialysis patients.
|
|
Hepatitis C
The chronic infection of Hepatitis
C may also develop cirrhosis, liver cancer and
even liver failure. |
|
|
Autoimmune Chronic Hepatitis
It may develop when the body's immune system
attacks liver cells. This condition develops
because a genetically defective immune system
attacks the body's own cells and organs. |
|
Hepatitis D
This only occurs with HVB infection
and spread the same as HVB. Co-infection of B and
D virus can be more serious than infection with
the Hepatitis B alone. |
|
|
Hepatitis caused by
Alcohol and Drugs Alcohol
abuse and other medications and drugs may also
cause severe damage to the the liver. Alcohol
affects liver's ability to absorb oxygen and may
increase fat accumulation Drugs and medications
can cause reactions similar to those acute viral
hepatitis. |
|
Hepatitis E
This is similar to Hepatitis A and is acute rather
than chronic.
